With our updated app, getting a taxi is smoother than ever

In August 2025, we’re updating the Menevä app to serve your needs even better. If you already have the app on your phone, the update will happen automatically. The first time you open the new version, you’ll just register again, and we’ve made the process as easy as possible.

In the new version, you’ll enjoy:

  • A faster and clearer user experience
  • More accurate location and estimated arrival times
  • More payment options to choose from
  • In-app messaging with your driver
  • Driver and vehicle details directly in the app

And all your favourite features will remain:

  • Book a taxi instantly or schedule in advance with no extra fees
  • Always know your fixed price before the ride
  • Track your taxi’s arrival on the map
  • Multiple payment methods (including Google Pay, Apple Pay, and now also Link)
  • Receive your receipts directly by email

For business customers:

  • Open a business account in the app
  • Easy-to-use management portal for bookings and users
  • Existing business customers will be automatically moved to the new business account

Booking a Taxi

Once you’ve downloaded the Menevä app to your phone, simply register to the service – then you can order a taxi to any address right away or schedule a booking for a later time. You can choose your preferred vehicle type and payment method directly in the app.

You’ll always see the fixed price for your trip before placing the order. After booking, you’ll receive a confirmation message on your phone. Once your Menevä taxi has accepted the ride, you can easily track its arrival in the app.

Booking a Taxi in Advance

With Menevä, you can book a taxi ahead of time at no extra cost. In the app, simply set your desired pickup time. You’ll receive a confirmation message from your assigned car about 15–30 minutes before your scheduled departure.

You can also make advance bookings by calling our order number. Any bookings you’ve made can be managed in the “Orders” section of the app, where you can easily edit your booking details.

Extra Stops

You can add extra stops to your journey by tapping the plus sign in the destination address field. You can add multiple stops along the way if needed.

Fixed Price

With the Menevä app, you’ll always get a fixed price for your trip. The fixed price is calculated according to Menevä’s taxi fare rates. It includes a total of five minutes of waiting time during the journey. Any additional waiting time is charged according to the taxi fare’s waiting fee and is paid in the car after the trip.

Payment Methods

You can choose from a variety of payment options, including all major credit and debit cards or Apple Pay and Google Pay. This makes paying – and travelling – effortless: just hop in, enjoy the ride, and step out when you arrive. Your payment is processed automatically, and the receipt is sent straight to your email.

In the “Payment” menu, you can save your card details and even add multiple cards if you wish.

If you choose “Pay in the car”

You can pay for your trip at the end of the ride and receive a receipt from the driver. In the taxi, you can pay with all major credit and debit cards, contactless payment, or cash.

Pre-Authorization

When you place an order, your payment card’s validity is checked and a pre-authorization is made for the fixed price of the trip. This hold is released as soon as the booking is registered in our system and the amount is returned to your card.

The final price is charged after the trip, and you’ll receive a receipt for the payment by email.

Quick Order Addresses

In the app, you can save quick order addresses – like your home or work – that you often use as pickup or drop-off locations. This makes ordering a taxi as smooth as possible.

You can set a quick order address from the “Quick Order” section on the app’s home screen by tapping “Add” in the menu. Enter the address, then choose a name and an icon for it. To delete a quick order address, simply press and hold its icon.

Cancelling an Order

You can cancel your booking at no cost as long as the car has not yet accepted your order. You can manage your bookings in the “Orders” section of the app.

Frequently asked questions 

Do I need to download the app again?

If you have automatic updates enabled, the app will update by itself. When you open it next time, just re-register, it’s easy!

If automatic updates are off, the app will take you to the app store so you can download the latest version manually.

Why do I need to register again?

Due to technical updates, re-registration is required. It only takes a moment and is done using your phone number.

What information do you ask for during registration?

We only need your phone number. You’ll receive a verification code by SMS to complete the registration.

Can I still use the old app?

No, the old app will be discontinued and you won’t be able to place orders with it anymore. Updating to the new version is required to continue using the service.

What should I do if registration doesn’t work?

  • Make sure your phone has an internet connection.

  • Check that you entered your phone number correctly.

  • If the problem continues, feel free to contact our customer support at 0800 02120.

Will my previous information be saved in the new app?

The new app starts fresh. You can update your contact details in your profile and add frequently used addresses as quick order locations.

Will my existing advance bookings transfer to the new app?

No. Advance bookings for dates after August 19th need to be made again to appear as bookings in the new app.

Why can’t I see my old bookings in the app anymore?

Bookings made in the previous app version do not transfer to the new app.

I have unused promo codes in the app - will they transfer to the new app?

Promo codes won’t transfer automatically. However, you can transfer valid unused promo codes individually to the new app. Please note, only one promo code can be active in the new app at a time.
