Terms and Conditions

By using any services offered by Menevä, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Terms

1.1. TAXI SERVICE. The term "taxi service" encompasses the entire service chain, from booking the trip to the actual journey in the car and any matters that may arise after the trip, such as handling lost property or invoicing.

1.2. CUSTOMER. A customer refers to the party paying for the taxi service, which may be an individual or a legal entity, such as a company. In many cases, the same person pays for the trip and travels in the car, and in these cases it is not necessary to distinguish between the two.

1.3. TRAVELING CUSTOMER. When referring to a customer traveling our taxis, the term Traveling Customer is used.

1.4. RIDE. The part of the taxi service where the customer travels in the car.

1.5. BOOKING. A booking refers to a trip booked in advance through Menevä. A booking is not necessarily recorded for a ride, such as when a customer gets into a car at a taxi station.

1.6. PREBOOKING. Prebookings refer to orders with a specific pick-up time agreed in advance.

1.7. SERVICE PROVIDER. Service provider refers to Menevä and the network of subcontractors it may use to provide taxi services.

1.8. AREA OF OPERATION. Although Menevä operates extensively in Finland, there are areas where Menevä does not have established operations. Menevä maintains a list of its operating areas on its booking channels, such as the Menevä app. Car availability may vary temporarily depending on the situation.

2. General terms

2.1. These terms and conditions apply to all taxi services provided by Menevä to its customers, excluding taxi services covered by separate agreements or service descriptions. Taxi services covered by separate service descriptions include, for example, taxi journeys reimbursed or booked by Kela or welfare services.

2.2. The service provider is committed to being a non-discriminatory operator.

2.3. By using our services, you agree to these terms and conditions.

3. Booking a service

3.1. Bookings can be placed through various channels, such as: via the app, by phone, by email, or via the website.

3.2. If the Service Provider does not have suitable vehicles for the booking, the Service Provider will try to replace the vehicles with the most suitable alternative possible. For example, a minivan booking can be divided for multiple saloon cars according to the number of passengers. The customer pays the price agreed with them when placing the booking.

3.3. The service provider does not transport dangerous substances or illegal items. The service provider has the right to refuse to drive a booking if the goods cannot be safely loaded onto the vehicle.

3.4. During periods of exceptionally high demand, such as Christmas, New Year's Eve, or public transport strike days, the Service Provider may limit the acceptance of prebookings.

3.5. The customer must provide correct and complete information when placing a booking. The customer is responsible for any additional costs if the driver goes to the wrong location due to incorrect information provided by the customer.

3.6. The service provider has the right to refuse transportation if the actions of the Traveling Customer pose a safety risk or if the car cannot be safely driven to the pick-up or destination address.

3.7. The service provider does not accept bookings in which the customer requests a driver of a specific ethnicity. We will remove all bookings in which we notice such requirements in the additional information.

4. Prices and payment

4.1. Prices are determined according to the current price list or agreed with the Customer in advance, for example when placing a booking.

4.2. Payment can be made in cash, with the most common bank or credit cards used in Finland, or by other mutually agreed means of payment. Additional payment charges will be added to the booking price.

4.3. Fixed price bookings include a 5-minute wait at the pickup address. Any additional waiting time will be charged according to the current price list.

4.4. Prebookings departing from the airport

4.4.1. The price of the booking includes a 45-minute wait from the actual landing time, provided that the flight number has been specified.

4.4.2. At Helsinki Airport, the driver will arrive at the pick-up hall 20 minutes after the actual landing time of the flight.

4.5. The fixed price is valid when driving directly from the pick-up point to the destination.

4.6. Deviations from fixed price bookings will be charged according to the general price list. For example, if the waiting time is extended, the waiting time price valid in the area will be used, or in the case of route deviations, the price measured by the taximeter will be used.

4.7. The service provider handles bookings outside the operating area on a case-by-case basis, and a fee covering the distance to the pickup address is added to the booking as an extra charge.

4.8. The service provider has the right to demand payment of the full or partial price of the ride in advance before the ride begins when the pick-up address is located outside the operating area, the ride is longer than 200 kilometers, and/or the fare exceeds €500.

5. Cancellations and changes

5.1. The customer can cancel the ride within the operating area at no cost before the agreed pick-up time. This applies to both ASAP bookings and prebookings.

5.2. If the pickup address is outside the operating area, cancellations must be made no later than the previous day. If the cancellation is made after the driver has already arrived at the pickup address, 75% of the booking price will be charged.

6. Lost property

6.1. The service provider is not responsible for any items left in the car by the customer, nor for their loss or damage. The driver will deliver any items left in the car to an appropriate storage location in accordance with the Lost Property Act or Menevä's instructions. The Customer is responsible for any costs associated with the collection of lost property, such as separate transport or handling fees. The Service Provider is not liable for any financial losses resulting from the loss of items.

7. Responsibility of the service provider

7.1. The service provider is responsible for the appropriate implementation of the service.

7.2. The availability of a safety seat or other legally required safety equipment cannot be guaranteed in all situations. The service provider has the right to cancel a booking if the safety equipment required by law cannot be delivered.

7.3. The service provider shall not be liable for any delays caused by the customer if the customer has booked the ride too late (e.g., flight, ship, train). The service provider shall not be liable for indirect damages, such as loss of income, rebooking of accommodation, or repurchase of flight, bus, or train tickets.

7.4. The service provider is not liable if no car is available for prebooking due to exceptional traffic conditions, exceptional weather conditions, or other similar reasons.

7.5. In exceptional circumstances, the Service Provider may prioritize the execution of orders, for example, by giving priority to the transportation of medical personnel.

8. Processing of personal data

8.1. The service provider processes the customer's personal data in accordance with data protection legislation. Further information on the processing of personal data can be found in our privacy policy.

9. Other terms

9.1. The service provider reserves the right to change these terms and conditions. Changes will take effect once they have been published on the website of the service provider.

9.2. These terms and conditions are governed by Finnish law.

9.3. The terms and conditions are valid until further notice.
